Jacoby (Harold Stanley) Collection, 1940-1967.

The papers in this collection derive from Jacoby's activities both as a teacher and as a citizen acting in the cause of reform. Series I contains biographical materials. The bulk of the papers in Series II constitute a record of hearings conducted by the U.S. House of Representatives on the subject of migrant labor (1940-42). Dr. Jacoby used the materials in preparing sociology coursework at COP (1946-55). Series III (formerly Ms205) consists of demographic data cards compiled by Jacoby from the 1950 Census for Stockton (Calif.). Notes with the collection indicate that Harold Jacoby laid out the tracts for the census. Series IV consists of Jacoby's COP Sociology Department teaching files. It includes course outlines, examinations, student papers and Department correspondence relating to coursework.
